Two men have been arrested by detectives investigating the disappearance of a 27-year-old man who was last seen on Acton High Street over two weeks ago.

Mohammed Shar Subhani, known to his family as Shah Khan, was reported missing to police by his family shortly before midnight on Tuesday, 7 May. They stated he had last been by them seen leaving his home in Heston at around 12.15pm that same day. He was described as wearing navy blue, Puma tracksuit bottoms, a navy blue short sleeved t-shirt and light grey Nike Air Max trainers.

The last signal on his mobile phone showed him to be in the vicinity of Chiswick Roundabout. He travelled to High Street, Acton where he was seen at approximately 1.45pm and has not been seen since.

Mohammed is Asian, 5ft 9ins tall of stocky build and has a distinctive tattoo on his left forearm with the words inscribed, “Death is certain. Life is not.”

Officers have also released an image of what is believed to be Mohammed’s car – a white Audi Q3, registration LC67 CXS – which was captured on CCTV travelling south on Hanworth Road, towards Whitton Road, in Hounslow at around 3.17pm on 7 May. The car had triggered an ANPR hit a short distance away on the A4, Transport Avenue, in Brentford around ten minutes earlier.

An investigation run by officers based at the West Area Command Unit continues with enquiries to establish the exact circumstances of Mohammed’s disappearance. They have been provided with assistance by specialist officers from the Serious and Organised Crime unit.

A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder on Tuesday, 14 May and later bailed to return to a police station on a date in mid-June. A 26-year-old man was arrested on Saturday, 18 May on suspicion of murder, conspiracy to murder and possession of drugs; he has also been bailed to date in mid-June. Despite the arrests the police have not declared the case to be a murder enquiry.

Mohammed’s family are in close contact with the police and are being kept updated with any significant developments. The family believe he may have been kidnapped possibly killed. Police say there is no evidence at this stage to link the discovery of a body found after a recent fire in Feltham to this case.

Detective Chief Inspector Alex Bingley, from West Area CID, said: “Mohammed’s disappearance is out of character and it has now been over two weeks since he was last seen.

“The longer he is missing, without any contact from him, the more concerning the situation has become.

“Officers retain an open mind about the circumstances and, while at this time there is no evidence to suggest Mohammed has come to any harm, we are continuing to pursue a number of lines of enquiry. Understandably, Mohammed’s family is desperate for news.

“I would urge anyone with information about Mohammed’s whereabouts, or movements, to call police immediately and help end his family’s anguish.”
