Cressida Dick Goes On The Beat In South Acton

Met Police Commissioner joins local officers on a tour of the area

The head of the police service in London became an ordinary beat copper in Acton for a day this month when she joined local officers in Acton.

On Wednesday 23 August the Metropolitan Police Commissioner, Cressida Dick visited Ealing. Amongst
her engagements while visiting the borough was a walkabout in South Acton Ward with PC Dave Young.

Although the officer initially thought it would be a daunting prospect it turned out to be a relaxing walk along the High Street and through the South Acton Estate.

He said the Commissioner asked lots of questions and showed a real interest in the issues faced on the Ward and that she was also very intuitive as to the diverse nature of our area and showed a real interest in the local community.

The officer commented, “This was a rare and privileged opportunity to spend time with such a high ranking officer who has made time in her day to visit our small part of London. Your Police Service is in good hands."
