Raids Across West London in Drugs Crack Down

South Acton property targeted as part of Operation Razorback

Officers raided an address in Acton and across West London as part of an operation to crack down on drugs and crime in the run up to the Notting Hill Carnival.

Borough police searched four properties in Southall, Hanwell and Acton where they discovered a large quantity of class A and B drugs.

As part of Operation Razorback, cash and Class A drugs were found at a property in Galsworthy Court, Bollo Bridge Road, but no arrests were made as the owners were not at home.

As part of a crackdown on anti-social behaviour, youth gangs and drug crime, police also raided a property in Southall, where a small amount of Cannabis was found and the owner was given a formal warning.

A 20-year-old man was arrested during the operation on Thursday for possession of class A and Class B drugs at another property in Southall, and in a raid in Hanwell, the occupier was given a verbal warning for a small quantity of Cannabis.

A police spokesman said: "We will target gangs who bully, carry weapons and commit crime, and we will continue to investigate, arrest, convict and imprison people who have no respect for others.

"Across the area we are constantly looking at crime trends and youth gangs, ensuring that we are targeting those who are responsible.

"By gathering information and responding in a uniformed approach with our neighbouring boroughs, we can ensure that we have the maximum impact in the lead up to the Notting Hill Carnival."

A total of 18 addresses across Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham, Brent, Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster were raided and 14 people arrested throughout the operation to ensure the Notting Hill Carnival runs smoothly and is not used as an event for criminal activity.
