Police warn if a deal seems too good to be true it usually is just that
On Friday 21 May 2010, at around 1530 hrs on Station Parade, close to Park Royal tube station, two unidentified suspects approached a man and offered to sell him a laptop.
Three men proceeded to suspects’ silver Ford Fiesta where the victim was shown a brand new laptop. He agreed to buy it and handed over £200.
The victim was then given another box. He failed to check what was inside as he believed it contained the laptop which he had been shown earlier.
However,
when he inspected the box later he found it was full of onions.
Suspect one is described as 160 cm tall, possibly of Irish descent, with short blond hair, dressed in a blue office shirt.
Suspect two is described as 173 cm tall, possibly of Eastern European descent, age around 45.
Police would like to appeal to the members of the public to be vigilant and protect themselves from becoming victims of conmen.
They advise members of the public not to buy any goods from unauthorised street sellers or people they may meet in the street.
If a deal appears too good to be true, then it probably is.
