Two Arrests after Elderly Woman is Mugged

Injuries sustained during vicious attack

Ealing Police arrested two men on Wednesday in connection with the robbery of an elderly lady in Cheltenham Place at the junction with Edgecote Close. The robbery happened at around 7.30pm on Saturday September 15th.

The arrested me are Omar Ali Musa, 18, of 10 Enfield Road, Acton. He was charged with robbery and remanded in custody to appear at Ealing Magistrates yesterday.

A 19-yr-old man from Acton has been bailed to a west London police station until October 25th pending further enquiries.

Ealing Borough Police were called to Cheltenham Place on September 15th after reports of a robbery.

The elderly lady had left home at around 3.30pm on Saturday to withdraw her pension from Acton Post office and to go food shopping in Morrisons.

At around 6.00pm she went to the Six Bells public house in Acton High Street. Just after 7.00pm she bought her supper at the fish and chip shop next to the pub.

The lady then made her way southbound on Mill Hill Road, and through the thoroughfare at the end, which leads into Cheltenham Place at the junction with Edgecote Close W3.

Two men attacked her and she was punched or pushed to the ground landing on her left side and injured.

A Morrisons bag, which contained the victim’s pension book, approx £100, a set of house keys and some personal correspondence, was pulled off her arm and the two suspects ran off in an unknown direction.

The victim, an 87yr old female from Acton, suffered a broken left arm and facial injuries on her left side during the attack. She sustained a heavily swollen, bruised and cut left eye.

Police are still keen to talk to anyone who may have seen the incident.
