Kids' Cookery School Launch Donation Drive

Acton charity doubles its money with TheBigGive.org.uk

One of Acton's best known charities, the Kids' Cookery School has been teaching children in Acton and beyond how to cook for years, and all out of their home on Gunnersbury Lane, near Acton Town station.

They're a good cause! And they've launched a new donation scheme where thebiggive.org.uk will double all money pledged over the next couple of days.

Straight from the press release to your screen:

"The Kids Cookery School (KCS) has been selected to take part in a Match Funding Challenge with the Garfield Weston Foundation and The Big Give – every pound you give will be doubled.

For the past 2 years KCS on Wheels has delivered hands on cookery workshops to over 6,000 children, young people and families all over London- but we cannot keep up with demand. Our vision is for every borough in London and, ultimately, across the UK, to have a KCS on Wheels so that young people across the country can have a healthy future. We have an amazing opportunity to take the first step towards this but we need your help.

  • On the 5th 6th and 7th December The Garfield Weston Foundation are offering to double any donations made to us through the Big Give website.
  • Donations will be pound for pound – every pound you give, the Garfield Weston Foundation will match, so please give generously! The donation needs to be made as close to 10am as possible on the 5th, 6th and 7th of December before the allocated money runs out.
  • Donations must be made online and only on 5th–7th December. Any donations not made through our personal link or within these dates will not be doubled. The maximum donation one individual or company can make and have matched is an astonishing £3,000. Donate Here.
  • If there is traffic on the website we would greatly appreciate your patience. The closer donations are made to 10am the more likely we are to have donations doubled.

Support The Kids’ Cookery School this Christmas by making a donation to us through the Big Give Challenge, and remember every donation big or small will change the lives of children all over London and the Home Counties. Here’s what gifts of various amounts will help us to achieve:

£15 would enable one child to attend one cookery class with KCS on Wheels

£30 would enable one child to attend a 2.5 hour holiday cookery workshop at KCS base in Acton

£60 would enable a child to attend a 4 week programme of cookery workshops with KCS on Wheels

£200 would give 16 children from a special needs unit the opportunity to attend one KCS on Wheels session

£600 would allow the Van to visit one school, community group or children’s centre for a day and teach up to 48 children

£10,000 would provide the ingredients needed for one KCS on Wheels van for one year

£50,000 would purchase and equip a van, enabling KCS on Wheels to work with an increased number of hard to reach inner-city communities

Please Give Generously!

Donate here!

With very best wishes and thanks
