New Children's Centre for Acton

It's the 26th in the borough

West Twyford Children's Centre in North Acton has officially opened.

It's the 26th to open in the borough with one more scheduled to officially open later this year at The Log Cabin in Northfields.

West Twyford Children’s Centre is attached to West Twyford Primary School. It offers a range of services for young children and their families including a baby clinic, parenting classes, day care and stay and play sessions. There is also a breakfast and after school club for primary-school-aged children.

Councillor Julian Bell, Leader of Ealing Council, officially opened the centre before inviting the children, their parents and carers to take part in face-painting, balloon modelling and arts and crafts.

Councillor Bell said: “I am a passionate believer in children’s centres. They carry out fantastic work in helping children, especially those from a disadvantaged background, to achieve a better start in life.

“Like all other local authorities in the country, Ealing Council is facing massive budget cuts. However, we have chosen to prioritise our front line services and to protect and expand our family of children’s centres. I am very pleased to be able to be here today and officially add another to our network.”

West Twyford Children’s Centre is located on Twyford Abbey Road, just off the Hanger Lane roundabout. For more information call the centre on 020 8453 9358.
