Bus Lanes: Do You Love them or Loathe them?

Have your say and answer Council questions

Ealing Council is giving residents the chance to have their say on bus lanes in Acton.

On Wednesday, 21 November, the Acton Area Committee discussed bus lanes, whether existing bus lane signage is clear and whether any other changes should be made.

Councillor Dawn Larmouth, Chairman of the Bus Lane Specialist Scrutiny Committee, says: "Bus lanes - love them or hate them, we want your views. This is your chance to have a say on the Council's policy on this issue before any decisions are made. This issue is of great interest to local people and we want as much feedback as possible."

Keith Fraser, Head of Scrutiny at Ealing Council told us that any comments received by 9.00 am on Monday 17th December will be published in the Council's ongoing report "Comments from members and the public".

However, Keith says: "We do report late comments to the meeting, thus anything up to the 8th January will be included."

An easy way to take part is to cut and paste the questions below and email the answers to Keith Fraser (see box, right):

Signs

Are they clear and easy to read or are there difficulties? Are they positioned in the right places or should there be more or less? Please give details of exact locations where possible)

Hours of Operation

Are the times the right ones or should they be different? What suggestions do you have?

Safety

Are there any junctions made more difficult by bus lanes or do they help with traffic flow? Can you suggest anything that should be changed? Please give as much detail as possible.

Length and number of bus lanes

Are there some that serve no purpose or should some be put in to make traffic flow more easily?

Do you have any other comments about Bus Lanes?
