The Redback Tavern Has Closed

Antipodean venue has served its last pint

It's been described as 'filthy, feral, and loads of fun' but sadly (for some) The Redback Tavern - or 'Reddy' is no more.

Reddy

Concerns about increasing levels of drunkenness, violence and other safety issues led police to apply to Ealing Council to review the licence of this largely antipodean venue on the High Street.

Despite an online petition of hundreds being sent to the Council urging the Redback remain open the doors have now closed - signs on the website say 'until further notice' but, it would appear, for good.

The news will be met with great sadness from many of the Reddy's regulars who say it is one of the best music venues around.

The website Stuck In London recommended it : '' if you haven’t had your sandaled feet blackened and a white top stained pink with flying snakebite at this legendary venue then you haven’t truly experienced London, antipodean style.''

A statement received by ActonW3.com today, from Ealing Police says: '' ..the police licensing team were contacted this week by the dedicated premises supervisor who informed us the Redback Tavern had ceased trading.''
