For students and local community opening in September
Work has started on a brand new gym for North Acton residents.
iGym will be situated within a new Imperial College London student residential complex, and will cater for university students as well as the local community.
It will have an 80 station fitness suite including a wide range of cardiovascular, resistance and free weight kit from Pulse Fitness. Members will be able to surf the web and watch TV whilst working out as all cardio equipment will feature an 18.5” interactive touch screen.
There will be over 50 classes per week in two purpose built studios. The timetable will cater for all ages and abilities and will include group cycling.
Visitors to iGym will also get the chance to experience PulseMove, a digital fitness tracker which connects workouts in the gym with all the activity they do outside of the gym.
The in-gym kiosk allows members to access a virtual personal trainer who plans their workout and automatically sets up each machine upon insertion of the membership card.
Members can view a ‘Facebook-style’ news feed of fitness highlights plus detailed statistics and data on fitness activity history. The PulseMove website offers an additional means of activity tracking as well as access to detailed reports.
Chris Johnson, Managing Director at Pulse said: ''We are delighted to be working in partnership with Imperial College London to open this brand new facility on the Acton Campus,
''The facilities at iGym will be first class and will incorporate some of the latest fitness technology. We hope to attract both students and members of the local community, giving more people in Acton the chance to be more active more often.”
The new facility is set to open its doors on Tuesday 1st September 2015 and anyone who signs up for a membership before then will have access to a special reduced rate of£28 per month with no contract. The cost after 1st September will be £34.95 per month.
