Plans For Housing Development at Homebase in Acton


DIY shop to close with 16 storey building to take its place

Another high building could be on the way in Acton with proposals to turn Homebase on the Western Avenue into a new housing development.

Barratt Homes want to build 350 homes with the tallest unit at 16-storeys in a development known as Western Circus.

A supermarket is also included on the ground floor the total number of parking places is 89 (70 spaces for shoppers at the proposed supermarket and an additional 19 disabled parking spaces for the residential element) although it's proposed the area will be largely car free with additional space available for cycle storage.

The site fronts onto the the busy Western Avenue and concerns have been raised about access and pollution.

The plans have been put before Ealing Council for screening - which will assess environmental implications prior to any planning decision.
