Cash and Loaded Guns Seized in Acton


Three separate police operations leading to arrests

Police have seized two loaded semi-automatic handguns, at at an address in Horn Lane.

Trident officers executed a search warrant at around 13:40 on Tuesday 24th February and found the guns. In a separate search in Multi Way, Acton approximately £10,000 was seized along with a number of high-value watches, with a value of around £60,000.

One man aged 29 years was arrested close to the scene. He remains in custody at a west London police station.

The arrest was part of a wider operation- a 24-year-old man was arrested in Nigel Road SE15. Police seized a sawn-off single barrelled shotgun and ammunition from a rucksack.

A separate operation in Hayes by officers from the Organised Crime Central Task Force resulted in another arrest.

Ali Hussain, 23 of Townfield Road, Hayes in Middlesex has been charged with possession of a Section 5 firearm; possession of class A drugs and possession of section 1 ammunition. He appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates Court yesterday, 26 February and has been remanded to Kingston Crown Court until 10 March.

Detective Chief Superintendent Gordon Allison of Trident and Area Crime Command, said: “These arrests and seizures are an example of officers from Metropolitan Police Specialist Units acting on fast-time intelligence, and they highlight the bravery of police officers in confronting armed criminals who pose a high risk to the local community. We are committed to protecting communities from gun violence and bringing those involved to justice.”
