A new mini-film festival is being launched in Acton over the Easter period hoping to bring the community together.

Organisers say, '' We're all about Faith, Film & Community
ACTS Film Festival is here to show Acton some well-deserved LOVE, HOPE & JOY by using our faith to put the unity in community! With the power of film, we hope to bring local people together from all backgrounds and beliefs (or none) to enjoy a new community-chic cinema run seasonally. This event is open for everyone.''

The films will be shown in St Mary's Church Hall, The Mount, Acton High Street W3 9NW.

The theme is New beginnings and films that will be shown are:

* Fighting Temptations - 2 April

Fighting Temptations features OSCAR Award Winning Actor, Cuba Gooding Jr., plus the vocal talents of Beyoncé & Angie Stone. A fancy advertising executive has his life shaken up. With a surprise inheritance worth $150,000 up for grabs, he must first get his hometown choir in shipshape condition. Nothing ventured, nothing gained...


* Lion - 3 April

The Award-winning true story of Saroo who gets separated from his family at the age of five and ends up being adopted by an Australian couple. However, he returns to India 25 years later to search for his birth parents. Beautiful and gripping, this is a story of overcoming and rediscovering your true self.


* The Pursuit of Happyness - 4 April

Superstar, Will Smith plays Chris Gardner who takes up an unpaid internship in a brokerage firm after he loses his life's earnings selling a product he invested in. His wife leaves him and he is left with the custody of his son. Touching and true; audience see what patience, persistence and passion can achieve in this uphill battle for a new life. Award-winning true story.
