Council Leader To Be Quizzed Over Acton Old Library

Supporters of Arts Project are seeking answers to help in community campaign

Trustees of the Acton Arts Project bid are hoping for full transparency when they question Ealing Council Leader , Julian Bell, at the last full council meeting of the year at Ealing Town Hall.

th

Councillor Bell is also the portfolio holder for Regeneration, so will reply on behalf of the Council.

It was originally anticipated that a decision over the disposal of the Old Library would be made before Christmas, but the deadline for bids has been put back until March 2019.

To take advantage of the delay, the Trustees will be asking two questions on 18th December - just after 7.00 pm.

Question 1

What criteria and ranking schedules are being used by Officers to evaluate community and commercial bids for the building?
What encouragement and support is being given to community bids for the building?

Question 2

Leaving aside grants from the GLA,  how much section106 money from the Oaks has been spent, or is scheduled to be spent on community services in Acton?

Please include receipts from the sale of the car park on Churchfield Road.
