Population:
The resident population of Southfield in mid 1998 was 11200 people, 4 per cent of the population of Ealing local authority. 18 percent of Southfield’s population in mid 1998 were aged under 16, 66 per cent were aged between 16 and 59 and 16 per cent were aged 60 and over. This compares with 21, 64 and 15 per cent respectively for Ealing as a whole.

Vital Statistics:
A total of 211 live births to mothers usually resident in Southfield and 88 deaths of residents of this ward were registered in 1998. These represented crude rates of 19 births and 8 deaths per thousand residents compared with 15 and 8 respectively across the whole of Ealing local authority.

Employee Jobs:
There were 1800 employee jobs in Southfield at September 1998, 2 per cent of the Ealing total.

Income Support:
